Baby is 4 months old! (and already a couch potato)
Well, 4 months is here, and Kyle is more interactive than ever.
The sign says "I am 4 months old. I can laugh out loud, roll to my side, sit up on my own, and I am teething". (he especially likes gnawing on daddy's knuckles for some weird reason)
Apparently though, he's decided that zoning out to TV is a good thing (although we haven't been using it as a babysitter at all... weird). Today, being fussy, Jill did everything she could to calm him down, but the moment she sat down with him in front of the TV he went lax... a sign of bad things to come, I guess!
Also, here's the status of the basement project after 2 weeks off work:
- 2/3 of the basement has the subfloor complete, framing basically complete (some soffits for pipes/etc. still to be done), stairs complete.
- 1/3 of the basement still has all the "junk" and building supplies in it. I have to now move this over to the finished section and start again in the unfinished area.
The good news is that the unfinished area is pretty straight forward. The main room has no framing to do, and only 2 partitions and a couple small walls to erect for the bathroom and furnace room. Yay!
The new den/workshop/small bedroom. This will remain pretty bare as a workshop for now. It's just barely large enough for a queen bed, but would make a decent kids room in the future if needed.
A view into the new "guest bedroom / den". We'll finish this off nicely as a bedroom soon.
Daddy's toy... a "server closet" around the electrical panel and new network panel. I'll be wiring ethernet, phone, and cable through here to the whole house, and my 2 servers will be housed in this room.
The wood sure disappeared quickly... only 1 2x4 left. I hadn't counted on redoing the walls for the bathroom/furnace room when I began, so I actually estimated the wood pretty closely! I'll only need 8' lengths for those walls though, so I can go pick them up in the Nissan.
Yay!
