Candy day!
I have no idea who this "Scooby Doo" guy is, but if you dress up like him people give you candy!

I had lotsa fun with my friends Spidey and Fireman.

I want what I want, so what?
Daddy: "Kyle, do you want a baby sister?"

Kyle: "No!"

Daddy: "Then, do you want a baby brother?"

Kyle: "A cow! (hee hee hee)"

I can be so cute some times, can't I?

Bye bye Grandma and Hawoud!
It was great to see you two again - I don't ever get to play as much as I do when there's grandparents around. Mom and Dad tire too easily, but you guys are great fun!

Here's the last of the pictures from your visit. I hope we can all get together in Phoenix or Vegas this winter.

Grandpa Hawoud was on a quest to find a cheaper bottle of wine than Grandpa C did in Spain... it took a lot of effort, but he did it! However, nobody was brave enough to drink this one, let alone open it and clean windows. They ended up bringing it home with them! I pity the unsuspecting person that eventually tastes it.

Mom went to Rothenburg with Grandma and Grandpa, and left me behind with sick daddy. Even though he was home sick, I still worked him hard.

Dumped again - for a flooded city.
Well, I did get to spend two whole days with just Grandma and Grandpa, but it was only because my selfish parents wanted to go off for a romantic weekend in Venice. Oh well, it could be worse, I could be stuck at home just with Dad. :)

They came home with 400 pictures of canals. Yay.

They stayed just outside of San Marco Square - it's been in many many movies. The pigeons there are unbelieveable - thousands upon thousands of them.

In front of the big church - from the 1200-1500s. Wow... the interior was even more impressive, completely covered in gold mosaics (and I mean COMPLETELY).

This was just the entryway outside. The tide came up while they were going into the church, and the entryway flooded. The guards casually started erecting gangways for people to walk on, while the water flowed beneath.

More canals.

A Goldole ride was actually about half the price in Venice as it was on a motorized fake gondola in the Venetian in Las Vegas. And our Gondalier sang too (although his first song started "I like spaghetti, and tortelinni too...").

They had a pretty cool ride through the canals, ending up in the Grand Canal at the Rialto bridge. Venice is almost surreal because of the quietness! There are no cars, no scooters, and only the occasional power boat. It was amazingly relaxing for them.

The Rialto bridge - center of three bridges across the Grand Canal.

It just doesn't pay to "do it yourself" with gondole rides.

Mom was in heaven.

San Marco Square again - early in the morning before the crowds (Dad was actually up... weird).

Grand Canal at the southern end.

Mom cracked up over this.

More canals.

And no trip would be complete without police.

Spain, Portugal, and a weird bit of the Brittish.
We spent a week on the southern coasts of Spain and Portugal, along with a day-trip to Gibraltar. The weather was fantastic, and it was good to relax and catch some rays.

First, Portugal (after landing in Spain and spending the night in Seville - no time for a haircut though).

All you need is a diaper. And a fish. And a Grandma. And a drink.

We saw some Roman bath ruins - for 2000 years old, they had some pretty amazing water heating systems and luxuries! Cool stuff, and you could walk right up to it.

Baths tire me out.

Mom golfed! Boy she looks good... can't wait to play with her when I get older. Dad and Grandpa golfed a weird little course right behind our condo - while Grandma got a part-time job there as beer-girl.

Next - on to Spain, the southern coast near Marbella.

We stayed next door to a castle. Well, not a real castle, but cool none the less.

We did a day trip to the Brittish colony of Gibraltar. There were NO signs leading you to Gibraltar... I think the Spanish are a bit miffed.

To get into Gibraltar, you have to drive ACCROSS the airport runway. There's lights and gates on either side. The plane is just crossing the main road right here... weird. The runway completely separates the main portion of Gibraltar from the mainland.

Mom drove us up some narrow and steep roads to go see the monkeys (the famous tail-less apes of Gibraltar).

They were running free everywhere, and were quite tame. One little guy thought it was funny to throw bottles around though. Must be a teenager.

I made a good friend named Beethoven in Spain. He liked my cookies.

Everyone played lots of cards. Mom's hand wasn't so good, except for those 7's.
