Lounging in the heat...
The last couple of weeks have been very hot, up to almost 40 degrees (Celcius, dummy!). Mostly, I've been playing in my pool and running naked around the yard. Don't ever call me naked though, because my name is Kyle, and I'll get very upset if you call me ANYTHING else. "No, I Kyle!!!!"

We're both cute. We both know it.

My little sister idolizes me, and my voice seems to mesmerize her. I love being a big brother! I'm really good at helping to take care of my sister; I even bathe her.

Jemma sleeps a lot. She's sleeping much better now that she's on Zantac.

Mommy is also sleeping much better now that Jemma is on Zantac.

Daddy is a great jungle-gym.

I'm practicing my look to be a rock star later in life. I think I have it down pat.

It's started raining a bit the last few days. It's a lot of work when it rains, because I have to go out and clean all my toys!

It just wouldn't do to have a wet slide now, would it? Mommy and Daddy could learn a thing or two from me.

NO PICTURES! Do I have the rock-star thing down yet?

Hee hee!

Cute Sister
Many people don't think that babies can smile when they're happy... but all you need to do is play with her a bit, or smile in her direction, and you'll get a beaming smile back. I did that too as a baby... it's cute, ain't it?

34 hours of travel (one way), but worth it!
Well, Dad says that even though it took him 34 hours of travel to get to North Bay, the trip was well worth it. It made up for having to spend 4 days in meetings afterwards. Although I wasn't there, here's what he did.

The cottage, 360 degree view... this is what life is about!

Doesn't he look relaxed for so much travel? Really, that look is not relaxation, it's sympathy for Mom who was at home with us two kids.

First stop was to see his Grandma and Grandpa Cazabon. Even though they're in their 80's, they seem to be doing quite well. They're two of the sweetest and caring people on Earth.

Who couldn't love a Grandma like that?

And my Grandma too!

This is the church they were married in. The family gave this to them at their 60th wedding anniversary (this year is 69 years!!!).

Bye Grandma and Grandpa!!! We miss you already!
Next up was going to see Aunt Roberta's horse farm - an amazingly cool and impressive place. Doesn't she look happy?

He also got to see his aunt Michelin and cousin Marc (and family). They all seemed very happy too.

Back to the cottage... for a nice swim.

The most perfect beach in the world... my Dad says he had such amazing times at the cottage growing up. Great Grandma and Fred (who for all purposes was his Grandpa... not sure why the name didn't stick) were great to us. Given the stuff he did as a kid, I'm amazed he lived long enough to make me! They certainly had reason to strangle him a few times, but somehow managed to restrain themselves. That's love for you, I guess. :)

Cards night... my great-Grandmother is a card shark, apparently.

I think Grandma lost... she looks bushed.

This is an aerial shot of the cottage... but it doesn't do it justice.

It hasn't changed a bit in 30 years... perfect!

Bye! We miss you too already.
Next off is visiting Uncle Mike and Aunt Carmen. They were both camera shy.

Dad's cousin Jeanette wasn't camera shy, otherwise this would have been a pretty boring photo day.

Grandma made this AMAZING blanket for me... I stay up at night playing with all the animals. If you look really close, there's all kinds of 'piders hiding in with the animals!

She also made Jemma some cool needlepoints like she did for me. She's great at that stuff.
Last but not least, some pictures of me and Jemma... no blog post is complete without us!

I love playing in the backyard naked... it's been 30-35 degrees here, so it's a must. I have a pool and a sunshade - what else does a boy need?

I got this great clown face at day camp, at Little Gym.

Jemma got these cool clothes from Uncle Charles and Aunt Shannon... ain't she cute? We'll need another 14 blog posts to show you all of them!!!

Planes, airport coffee, and automobiles...
Well, Dad is having a heck of a trip trying to get to North Bay to see Grandma and Grandpa (and all the relatives). His flight from Brussels was delayed 4.5 hours, making him miss his connection, even though he originally had a 6-hour layover.
Silly Dad flew into JFK, and was going to switch to Newark to go out... not a problem if you have 6 hours, but a bit tough in 10 minutes. In any case, he's now roughing it for the night in the Laguardia airport (yes, a third one) for a 6:50am flight to Toronto. From there, he's driving to North Bay.
Annoying things:
1) Delta doesnt care that they made me late. My second flight was a separate trip on another airline, so it's my problem
2) Air Canada is sympathetic, but not really willing to go out of the way. $55 and 7500 more Aeroplan points (and a night on an airport chair) fixed it though.
3) Rental cars: "Hi, I work for Kodak, account number XXXXXXXX, is $350 the best rate you can do for the weekend? How about a private rate, I'm visiting from Europe. Oh, you can do $135 then? Why not for Kodak??????
Oh well... here goes nothing.

Thank God for wireless internet. :)

Beach!
We took a long weekend for Canada Day (although it's not a holiday here) and went to the Belgian Coast in Blanckenberge. It's about a 1.5 hour drive, but it took us 3 hours to get there. Mom picked the hottest weekend of the year, it was well over 30 degrees, which was awesome for the beach. A nice breeze kept us cool enough, and there was always the water.

My swim suit was a bit big, so I had to lend it to Dad.

Our first day was a long one... driving, then playing hard on the beach. Dad forgot his camera the first day though, so you'll have to take my word for it.

Jemma had her own little beach hut to keep her cool.

My friend Caroline and her family came out for one night too. It was great fun to see them there, and they kept me so busy that Mom and Dad had to just sit and relax... poor parents, they missed all the fun.

Amber loves Jemma... but I guess she is the second cutest kid in the world after me. :)

We found an Around!!! I must've had to go on it at least 10 times to make Daddy happy.

We found out that most ice-cream shops here carry non-dairy ice-cream!!! It's my new favorite treat.

It's a pretty cool little town to visit, and they love kids.

I practiced my surfer-dude look for days for this trip.

Mom is a great photographer, isn't she?

I brought my dinosaur to the beach to entertain Jemma.
When we got home, Dad must've been tired. If you look closely, you'll see the results of him mowing while spaced out... especially if you accidentally lower the lawn mower a notch halfway through cutting.
